We should expect to have experienced the apostasy or falling away foretold in 2 Thessalonians 2:3
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first."

I would also expect there to have been a restoration of God's gospel, since there was a falling away. It makes sense that the coming of Christ would not be at hand without God restoring his truth and bringing it to us.
