I'm Sure that some of you will say he is No longer relevant, but was sadame any more when the US went into Iraq? Was he killing Americans? Was he attacking anyone at the time? Was he a real threat when he couldn't even fly planes over his own country? Bin Ladden is still at large, His group is still attacking people all over the world. Including US troops, His organization is funding in large part, the **** in Iraq, Don't dismiss him as irrelevant he is doing half of what your fighting to prevent. Why are there not more troops in the area where he is believed to be hiding? Didn't Bush say in the past that he would go where ever it took to get him,and that he would not be swayed by borders ? Even saying he would go into Pakistan if necessary, Why has the hunt for him been all but suspended ? Does he have secrets that the us Government doesn't want known ?

m1a1mike : I never ever blamed the Military. I think the Military could do it with ease if not blocked by political interfearance. The Military boys are doing a bang up job, and they did in Nam too. its the politics of it all preventing you from getting the job done . And i'm not so sure it wasen't planned that way right off the start.

I thought Bush would have wheeled him out just before the last US election, I'm not convinced the Yanks have stopped looking for him, but they should probably start looking in North London

Bin Laddin has retired or is dead. He hasn't spoken for months and he always loved to talk. The Taliban and Al Qaeda are actually hurting on the Pakistan/Afganistan border. Tribes have to defend themselves from other tribes too and their extra men are drying up. Sure there are foriegners, but there is now fighting in Sudan, Somalia, Chechnia, Iraq and sometimes Lebanon. Without a massive recruiting drive the forces in Afganistan are going to wear themselves out.

What do you mean all but suspended? We are all over Afghanistan "cleaning" insurgents everyday. Look at it this way, How many criminals evade the law here in the States. Some for decades. Look at the goofball that did the bombing at the Olympic park in Atlanta. Bin Laden is getting tired of hiding so much that he has tried to ask for a "deal". Anyhow with that ransome on his head he has mor to worry than just The US.

Get a clue guy. We have the same number of troops over there as we did when we started.

And if you think that you can do better - why don't you give us your ideas.

Look at how long it took us to catch the Unibomber - and he was in the US the whole time!

The chase is more important than the capture. Every time OB moves, we get new information on where he was, what he was doing, and who was helping him. Capturing OB early would deny this information from us and make OBL a martyr. Keeping pressure on OBL makes him look weak and exposes his financial and logistical network. Keep the chase on.
