I believe it is just a scam brought up by certain political leaders to enhance their political future and fund their pockets. Tell all those people that live in Denver about global warming from what they experienced this winter. Global warming - "An Inconvenient Fabrication"

Not exactly a conspiracy theory, but Global Warming proponents vie with one another to issue ever-increasing warnings of doom and gloom, in the hope of attracting a larger share of the government funding out there.

This was the point made by Dr. Claude Allegre, one of the original signatories to the letter that started the Kyoto Protocol, when he recanted his Global Warming beliefs last year. He pointed out that competition for attention and for funding seems to be driving a good number of the "scientists" who issue these increasingly dire predictions. If he had known in 1992 what we know now, there probably would never have been a Kyoto Protocol.

And, yeah, Bronk, why is it that we never hear people like Al Gore question their faith when news breaks about old fashioned snow and cold?

P.S. I saw Mohammed's comment [below] about the "science" of Global Warming going "back to the '60s." If Mohammed would check that assertion, he would find that in those days, today's Global-Warming people were back then bewailing that the earth was in the midst of global cooling, with dire predictions of a new ice age within one hundred years.

Perhaps when you have done this, you may understand why skeptics like me proudly doubt.

Let us just assume that Global warming is fabricated. Would we do any of following differently:

* Have planes and cars with better mileage
* Pollute less( Besides CO2, burning of fossil fuels produces nasty stuff that you do not want to breath)
* Drive less and walk more (for your health)
* Live closer to work(that saves you time)
* Use public transportation when possible(save money)
*Carpool(good for you if you are the one who is not driving)
* Use more energy efficient appliances(that saves on your electricity bill)

Oil will eventually run out in 20-50yrs. We need to use what we have wisely until we have better fuel.

So global warming or not, we still have to take the same actions.

One more thing. The science of global warming goes back to the 60s, long before any politician had any interest to use it for political gain.

yes i actually also believe that it could be a scam, or at least not as huge as a problems as proposed. The earth goes through cycles, for example hurricanes and bad weather. It has been proven that every so many years there are going to he horrible storms and hurricanes. The same is true for "global warming." scientists have discovered that the earth has gone throug hundreds of cycles of warming and cooling and it is only a cycle, it may be getting more intense each time due to some factors caused by humans, but it is only natural.

Is it a conspiracy to get us to clean up the air and cut back on our dependence on fossil fuels?

Is it a conspiracy to keep polar bears from drowning when they can't find a substantial piece of ice to rest upon?

I know, it's a conspiracy to keep Earth in a habitable condition for young people of today.

How can we live with such a conspiracy?

Global warming is based upon Earth's AVERAGE temperature. Of course there will be highs and lows from which to calculate the average. That's the concept of average. In fact, it is predicted that global warming will cause more unusual weather phenomena, so that argument is in favor of global warming rather than against it.

The truth is that it doesn't matter what people believe to be true about the global warming issue. The Earth takes its course whether we are right or not right. Pretty big risk to experiment in this manner, isn't it?

It is an uncontested fact that the average global temperature has increased. The things that are debated by a small minority are: what's the cause, will it continue, and what will the results be?

Looking at Denver or any other one place means nothing when talking about "global". It's one point out of thousands, looked at for a part of one year.

Oh, and I especially enjoy hearing from all those who just go on about how it's a natural heating-and-cooling cycle that's happened many times, as if that makes it all better. How about the landform changes, species eradication, wars, and massive human die-offs and migrations that accompanied these changes? I guess that's just fine, eh?

The earths average temperature is a meaningless number. Avergae can be calculated any number of ways, all of which gove a different result. It is also impossible to speak of an average of anything when you are dealing with a non-equilibrium system (which the earth is).

As for the conspiracy, nah, not in the standard sense. It has been obvious for many years that Kyoto and other such agreements are about central control rather than freedom.

Lots of people do. Lots of people believe the moon landings were faked too. But it would have to be the most amazing conspiracy of all times.

One thing you have to ask yourself. Are many thousands of scientists in on the conspiracy? Can't the ones who aren't prove beyond a doubt global warming is wrong?

Especially consider this. Are the people below all part of the conspiracy? Or are they so dumb they can be fooled by a conspiracy? I don't think so.

Well, if it is real, it's probably caused by all the deforestation in other parts of the world. We need trees to get rid of toxins in the air. (We had a bad winter here in Washington state too).
