You don't need a timeline. Jesus preached to feed and clothe the poor. This has been done from the beginning. It is funny that so many people will say EVERYTHING else, and would be the first in line for freebies.

Did you mean 'helped expand the number of poor and vulnerable'?
If Christians had more sensible attitudes towards birth control and STDs, AIDS would be less of a problem, for one.

I don't know about helped as much as taken advantage of. "Here, I'm a missionary, I have food and clothing in this church."
