Going to watch the Dolphins in Scotland, can anyone give me some idea as to how long it will take to drive assuming we adhere to all speed limits and if possible suggest the quickest route after leaving the M6 motorway.

About 6-7 hours.

Follow the M74 to Glasgow then the M73/A80 toward Striling. Then follow the signs for Perth. Once at Perth follow the A9 toward Inverness (this road is a pain watch your speed cameras and unmarked police cars).

Now it depends where you are staying.
I live in Forres and usually come off the A9 just after Aviemore and head towards Grantown on Spey (A95) and across the moors (A939, A940). No American werewolves here though.

Pop in for a cuppa if you like!!

Seriously though, if you want more info about the area or I can help in anyway please email.

I know there's lots of weirdos on the internet but I am very normal!! ( most of the time)

After the end of the M6 follow the A74(M) which becomes the M74. At Uddingston take the M73 and then A80 towards Cumbernauld, then the M80 to join up with the M9. This then becomes the A9 just before Dunblane. At Aviemore you either continue on the A9 towards Inverness, or take the A95 through Grantown on Spey heading towards Elgin. It really depends exactly which part of the Moray Firth you're heading to. As a (very) rough guide it should take around 7 hours, depending on how many stops you make and how many tractors hold you up on the A9! (Yes, been there, done that many times!)
