I Don't see why not; It's YOUR choice, in the end. If they are suberb close friends, then there's your answer. They will be flattered, and any one else who might be offended or hurt by not being chosen will get over it; God parent is just a title afterall, and if other friends so chose, they could be intergral parts of the childrens lives, with or without a title attached to their names! Make sure (if you have other friends/family in that position) you let them know that!
