U need 2 go back 2 ur doc & be insistent.
be forceful if u have 2,
u deserve a decent explanation as 2 what the Doc will be doing 4 u, ur in pain
& remind the GP u've paid ur national insurance stamp.
try 2 think of the NHS as a lumbering ancient beast, that they've decided 2 bleed dry, adding yet more pen-pushers & red-tape, in2 the budget.
or more charging 4
1 side of the country 2 compensate 4 the other!

I know how it feels. I have joint pain in my wrists and arms. Best is having a physical therapist show you couple exercises and continue doing them on daily basis. Don't keep going back to the therapist. He will make you do the same exercises over and over again and charge you a fortune. Just learn what and how you should do it. I had to consider another career, because my job was the reason of my bad joints. I feel better now. Also try supplements for joints.

I have arthritis all over my body, in every joint, but the hardest place to deal with it, is my hands and wrists, because everything I do hurts, every single day. Only typing helps them.
Arthritis flares and recedes, but never ever goes away, some days you can, some days you can't, I've learned to pace myself, I've had it since the age of 23 and I'm now 62.
You cry while you work, you cry a lot, and get really angry with yourself, because things you used to do inside two hours, take a day. Or, you put them off until the pain is bearable, and start again next day.
My GP tells me they can do nothing else for me except surgery... which I refuse to have.
I believe my GP and yours, have the same mentality!
It will not be good for you to do heavy lifting, you need to pace yourself and see if your employers might be more understanding and move you to a less strenuous position. It does get harder to bear as we age because our body becomes weaker and pain threshhold lessens... go easy on yourself.
I stay active and independent despite having been forecast as someone needing a wheelchair by the age of fifty... I didn't, I don't, and I have no intention of getting in one!
You should see me in the mornings, stiff, unable to get out of bed without a stick, so I pace about until a couple fo hours later, my joints unseize themselves, my hands can hold the kettle and I can do my chores and walk my dog and drive my car, and as the day goes on, I'm running in and out and up and down and no one even knows... everyone thinks I'm years younger than my age. By bedtime I feel so well, I dread getting into bed, because I know it all starts over in the morning... I stiffen in my joints as I sleep.
You must keep mobile, stretch yourself every day, walk every day, keep your weight down, and eat sensible foods, and don't drink alcohol much, cut down dairy foods and take a daily Cod Liver Oil Capsule (with or without vitamins added) to help your joints stay supple, I've taken them for thirty years.
Don't give in to it, be yourself, not your arthritis!

hiya. try to get some MOVELAT GEL from your GP. it is so good for the relief of pain. i use it along with the rest of my family. Also,get the seeds out of a papaya (black in colour) and putt them in the oven to roast. once they are roasted, crush them and mix them in some honey, and apply to the area in pain. leave for half an hour or so, it will hopefully leave you pain free !

Glucosamine with Chondroiton. I know a guy who was stove up so bad that he could barely get up out of a chair. Someone suggested it to him, and now he moves like a kid. You have to be consistent with it though.

Keep insisting to your GP that he give you a diagnosis even if it means referring you to a specialist. Once you have the diagnosis, tell your employer so you can be reassigned to a less physical job.

i had same problem i went to boots chemists and bought some vitamin tablets called glucosamine capsules there for joints and there do work you need to take them every day but are great

A good tip is to stop eating tomatoes, drinking white wine or cider, try and stay away from vinegar, and other acidic foods.
