I am african american with dry and corse hair.

Whenever it looks/feels dry.. I don't go by a schedule, I just do what my hair tells me it needs.

I wash about once a week, re-twist about once a month, and I oil whenever it looks dry or itches from dryness.

Oil your locs whenever they look or feel dry. Applying oil to damp hair will typically allow you to do so less frequently.

You might also try moisturizing with aloe vera gel or juice and/or vegetable glycerin.
