Well, I was outside yesterday getting something out of the car for my mom, and I noticed that my neighbor was outside. I turned to wave to him and something bad was "there". Please do not read if you're weak of stomach.

My neighbor was -slinging- around his dog by the back legs! He would hit the dog on objects and it was horrible. Finally he let go and the dog went flying across the yard. I stayed out there and waited to see if the dog was okay...it took him about 10 minutes for the dog to get up.

What should I do about this? I don't know if this is classified as animal abuse...and my neighbor has always been great friends with me...and I don't want him to be arrested. I'm also scared that if I tell anyone that they might not believe me and just call me a huge sicko kind of person. And possibly that my neighbor will sling me around by the back legs. Please help! I do not want my friend arrested because I like to talk to him and he is a good friend...but he has some anger problems...

If you're not humane enough to report this abuse to the humane society in your area, the LEAST you could do for the animal is steal it and take it to an animal shelter. This poor animal is suffering and the perpetrator should be removed from society. Did you know that many murderers start be inhumane treatment and torture/ murder of animals?
You want somebody like this as a friend and neighbor?

This is animal abuse and ought to be reported. If you are under 18, go to your mom and talk to her about it. You can report the neighbor annonimously to animal control and they will investigate. The only other thing you can do is to try to catch the action on film for proof. But whatever you do, do not risk your own safety. If you can not film or snap a picture from the safety of your home, do not try it.

I'm sorry but that is abuse. he shouldn't have a pet, granted he is your friend, but that is no excuse for what he is doing to that poor animal. call a animal protection service on him. you have to think of the pet, so he can get a better home. and your neighbor does not have to know that you turned him in, and you will be saving that dogs life.

Newsflash: A creep who is capable of treating an animal like that is likely to be a threat to his neighbors. Report him. It is abuse. Contact the Humane Society and Animal Control.

You need to find a way to get this dog away from him. I know you are worried about your friend but at the same time, its not fair to that poor dog. He shouldnt suffer. Even if you dog-nap him and take him to the police department and say you saw him being abused but would rather not say who...anything to get this dog away from this guy is vital.

That is defiantly animal abuse, you have to report him, it can be anonymous. But he could seriously harm or kill the animal/other ones. He has to be reported, go to you're local animal control officer and report that horrible person

You HAVE to report this guy, they wont tell him who reported if you ask them not to. What's worse, you losing a friend or this poor dog losing his life?

They might ask for proof, but I doubt it. Something this bad shouldn't require proof, and if he was doing this in his front yard, somebody else might have seen it..

this IS abuse.

if you want to report him, you need some evidence, though.

maybe if you see him do it again, you can tape it or find out if someone was watching also.

it sounds wierd, but you really should tape it so that you can show it to the judge when there is a trial.

good luck!

certainly report this sicko. and if you're worried about him slinging you around, you would be within your rights of defending yourself, not as some "dumb animal."
