There are plenty of churches that offer breakfast for those that show up. Personally, donuts and orange juice isn't going to cut it for me....I want a new computer or car.

No that is not acceptable. Just like the cigarette companies try to (tried to) lure kids in by changing advertising tactics so does the church. What is even worse is that they are filling the heads of young people with religious dribble. In this day and age people should not still have to rely on the false hoods of religion for answers. We have science. Christians have a hard time seeing it like this because they want/need more people in there 'social club.'

Most prayer groups happen in the evening around dinner time. Most prayer groups I have been to either the teacher provides dinner or we have a potluck. This is not a bribe, this is simply an acknowledgment that most of us have trouble concentrating on the divine when our stomachs are rumbling. Plus food builds community (my church has a lunch special after the late service and breakfast special before early service)

I'm not a christian myself but I think if you only every go for the material gain, in this case pizza, you are probably missing the point. On the other hand bribing with pizza seems slightly more acceptable then threatening people with eternal damnation of the don't go with is the other technique commonly used.

If it makes her feel like she's getting a return on her investment they I say no problem unless the kids are neglected and so hungry, starving almost that in order to get something to eat they must agree to her terms. Beware the free lunch! Nothing is free.

No. This just goes to show you how desperate Christians are to save their slowly declining church attendance numbers.

If now that you are of age, you are saying that because of that incident that you won't go unless you get pizza, well, gee, you haven't really grown up yet, have you?

If the promise of salvation of the soul from eternal pain and torment in the fiery pits of Hell isn't enough of an enticement, pizza won't hurt.
