Does anyone know if it is possible to play crown green bowls using a special walking stick ? or an attachment?

An elderly friend now needs to use a walking stick permanmently but would like to continue to play crown green bowls but it is not allowed to use a normal stick on the green does anyone have a solution/

if you have sky television ..there is a player from Australia who has a stick ..and hes a top player ..he all ways places his stick on the mat ..not the grass
