Italian sausage links are best cooked on a grill. Split them lengthwise, and grill over medium heat until they're 165º all the way through.
The peppers and onions go in an aluminum foil pack off the direct flame.
Serve with large amounts of beer.

Put your sausage in a frying pan with about 1 inch of water, and drizzel some extra virgin olive oil on it. Cover and bring to boil, remove the lid and turn the temp down. Simmer for about 10 min then let the sausage fry up, about 5 more minutes. While this is cooking, in another pan, warm up some extra virgin olive oil, add some garlic, simmer for a few minutes, then add your sliced peppers and onions and cook til desired tenderness. Add the veggies to the sausage, and enjoy!!!
I just made this today. We like some sauce, so I added some spag. sauce to the veggies and sausage.

When I make this I always start the sausage first in an electric fry pan with a bit of water added.I fry till almost cooked through and the water has evaporated.(sometimes you have to add a bit of extra water while sausage is cooking.
Then I add the peppers and onions and continue frying till peppers and
onions are soft and caramelized.
I never put it into the oven.

You can try par-boiling them and the finish them off on the grill. Sautee your peppers and on the side. It should only take about an hour or so for your sausage to cook in the oven at 350 degrees...still worth the wait especially if you substitute beer for the water! Yum!

Try boiling the sausage first for a little while to give it a head start. You would not even need to put it in the oven, you could just toss it in the frying pan with the veggies.
