Those who know West-Flemish, the language, know it is different from Dutch, which is an official language in Belgium. But, our mother tongue is West-Flemish, which clearly is a language on it's own, they even subtitle us on NATIONAL tv. So, my question, do you think West-Flemish should be recognized as an official language (like Frisian in Holland) or a regional language (like West-Flemish in France) ?

If you consider, that Portuguese is pretty similar to Spanish, (they understand to each other), and both are considered separate languages I see no reason why West Flemish should not be recognized as a language as well, though its similarity to Dutch.

If you say that even though it may be similar to Dutch but that is different enough to be a language on it´s own, I don´t see why it shouldn´t be recognized as an official language.
