I have seen many servicemen from England and the U.S. over the years paraded on TV by their captors and of all of those, I have never seen them smiling and laughing and sooo excited to disagree with their governments than I have from these Brits over the past week. I'm not sure they are being so coerced by the Iranians.

I beg to differ... if you look at the three sailers in this photo, they are all smiling and laughing.

when you look at film of U.S. pilots shot down and captured over Vietnam, sure you may see them agreeing with their captors but you don't see them laughing and giggling and so anxious to go along with it.

HEY Mr.Anthony! PLEASE don't comment on what you know NOTHING about it.How you dare to say IRAN and IRAQ are like each other?!!!! It costs you only a simple search on Internet about history, people, nature and ....! Iranians are Persians while Iraqis are Arabs.Absoloutelt 2 different types of people.
And you can be sure the british sailors are treated well.

As everyone has pointed out... they are in IRAN !!
Perhaps you're an Iranian Intelligence agent seeking out world opinion for President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ?? That would make SENSE actually:
a) You seem to have no navigational skills and get confused regarding WHERE on the map you actually are.
b) You actually suggest that the HOSTAGES are happy to be captive and aren't hostages.
c) Your government having a long history of taking hostages.
SERIOUSLY THOUGH... as a SERE School graduate (survivor). It's AMAZING what 2 days of sleep depravation, a simple beating (torso not face), and some AK-47 toting guards can do to your mental state !! And with respect... extra hard for a female captive.
Someone comes and gives you the "soft sell" after a hard night... and the next think ya know you're eating chicken cutlets on TV and writing (or just signing) a "confession" that you're an "Imperialist War-Criminal".

I hope your from Iran, and I hope your in the military, you are exactly the type of person that its easy to pull the trigger on.
Yeah the British personnel are getting the VIP treatment my @ss. They are being illegally held against their will. They were in Iraqi waters thats CONFIRMED. No amount of ******** or rhetoric from the mosque or Iranian state run TV is going to change the facts. This was a preplanned, premeditated abduction in Iraqi waters against the Brits who the Iranians saw as weaker and easier to catch than the Americans.
They tried the same crap with the Americans but it didnt work out.

So they did the British thing

Remember back when the US was getting ready to attack Saddam in 1991, and Saddam rounded up US/British citizens in Iraq and got them on TV? There is a famous video of him with a little British boy on his lap and Saddam is smiling.
This is just the exact same thing, its a threat from the Iranians without saying a word. Man I am so sick of Iran, and have been for a while. Even before we invaded Iraq I was saying "NO IRAN IS THE PROBLEM.'
We shouldnt have gotten rid of Saddam we should have rearmed him and sent him into Iran, f-ck those people.
Oh well, its coming my little Persian friends. I guess when everything around you is gone, you will ask yourselves "how did it come to this?" You dont seem to have any sort of sense of reality. Your country is about to go by-by.
Oh well its easy to be hard, its hard to be smart I guess. Darwin was right some people are too stupid to stay alive.
See you at the party, duck...

They are being held prisoner is IRAN, not Iraq.... although theres not much difference in the two. I have a huge problem with it, as should the rest of the world. Iran have violated the Geneva Convention agreement, that prisoners are not to be photographed or shown on TV. They are further isolating themselves from the world and will likely pay a high price for such actions. BOOM!

They are being coerced. Probably being treated well, because Iran is just using this for publicity, to make it look like the people fighting on our side really don't want to fight.

Well, I havent seen them smiling or laughing. Iran has probably coerced them.. If they say something other than what the Iranians tell them too, their life could end. They dont wanna die, so they say what they are told to.

When a POW in Guantanamo Bay gives a forced confession it is accepted as genuine without any second thoughts. These imperialist pirates are getting the VIP treatment and are under no pressure to give a false confession. With these two facts, I see no reason to question the authenticity of their statements.
