I have been really down lately. I'm ready to get out of this slump and was just looking for some suggestions on feel good stuff like movies and music. What do you do to make yourself feel good when you've been feeling bad?

Believe it or not i seek out someone who needs to be picked up a bit and i get to feel good for reaching out to others in need. Know that you are loved and appreciated. Know that you have a light within you that shines even tho you may not feel it. Watch Winn Dixie, curl up with a good book, listen to some music, and pamper your own sweet self. You are a beautiful soul who is just experiencing one of the less desireable aspects of life. If no one else tells you today, i love you.

Hey..I really feel you, Ive been there so many times, matter of fact, Im going thru that depression stage right now. lol. Well, music...thats a great medicine for this problem, now you might want to listen to slow songs when youre feeling like this, its normal if you want to, but dont do it! It only makes it worst, play the total opposite of slow songs, whether its rock or rap, play some thing thats loud and happy, something to make you forget your problems for at least that moment. So if theyre playing that slow love song on the radio station; turn to a diffrent one! Now, people sometimes think that the best thing to do, is go out w/ friends and have some fun to forget about evrything for a while and just have a good time, this can be good and bad at the same time. It can be good for ex, if you go to the movies, and you watch a good film, youre so focused on the movie that you dont think about anything else. But it can be bad because at times when we feel down, you can have all your friends w/ u and still feel liek your completely alone, now I dont know why youre feeling down, but its ok to cry, its ok to just lay on your bed and think about everything, you dont always have to take your mind off your problems. Talk to a friend, let it all out. Also going on Yahoo Answers (as im doing now) does me really good, I feel really good by helping out others, and I dont feel like im the only one, like right now, me and u are going thru the same thing. lol

I hope this helps and I hope you use some of my tips =)

I go to the gym and work out as I'm feeling like that right now so am going soon. I tape one soap (The Young and the Restless) during the week and when I have the time I watch them and my mind gets off my troubles......also I take Sam-e which is a supplement and it has helped with my mood too....it's very good for other things too.

Laughter is the best medicine!
Think about funny things. Watch funny movies! Read funny books. If you worry, ask yourself if Sh*t came out your nose instead of your ar*e, then what? If you just don't like yourself, start saying a million times a day, "I love myself as I am."
If you fear the future and don't believe good things will happen, say "The Universe is taking perfect care of me and my life is unfolding as it should."
If you're fat, say "I am at my perfect weight."
Better still, write this stuff down 20 times a day.
And don't pick your nose. Your head will cave in.
You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose.
Do you walk to work or take your lunch?
What's the difference between an New York and Tuesday?
Lighten up!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Music is wonderful but doing something for someone else is even better. Can you make cookies for a neighbor you think would appreciate? Can you offer to help anyone who might need it? ( a friend of your family) It doesnt have to be someone who is a best friend. Even a peripheral person you occasionally see? Go on a walk, take a class, Treat someone to lunch with you?

May sound completely nuts...

But when no one is home and I have some personal down time, I talk to myself! Yes, out loud and yes, I answer myself too.
No Im not nuts... I realize that it is me I am taking to. Sometimes hearing yourself say things out loud checks your own neck and helps you to be honest with yourself...

Conversations with your inner self are very therapeutic. Sometimes you really should root around in your own head in the form of dialog to see what might be going on that you were not consciously aware of...

I'd suggest hobbies. Try to make some friends-- try hard to become really close. Get out more often. Go places-- anywhere. Even if you just go for a walk on your block, it's good. If you'd like, go to my profile and e-mail me. I'd be more than glad to help! ;) Good luck!

When I get down in the dumps, I go online and get information on old enemies from high school, then I pull nasty pranks on them that cost them lots of money or their job.

GO OUT MORE OFTEN WITH FRIENDS. SHARE YOUR FEELINGS WITH SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS YOU. SPEND TIME WITH KIDS. THEY ARE INNOCENT AND FUNNY AT TIMES.
