We're trying to convince my parents to let us get a dog but we need one that is easily house trained because we just moved into a new house. Any helpful suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Depending upon the breeder, and the area of the country, $50-700. But remember why dogs are bred. Huskies were bred to run, and pull sleds, and as such they love to run and pull sleds even to the point of dropping dead....--- even if it is away from you.

Pit bulls were bred to fight, Australian shepherds were bred to herd, and so on. Huskies, as a rule really don't much care about your house --- they were not really bred to be house pets. Check out places like Petsmart, and Petco for appropriate dogs for your needs. Sometimes the best dog for your needs is a mutt.... and they are healthier, too. They have lots of books too, and people who really can answer your questions.

I possess and exhibit a Siberian Husky. All i will be able to say is that you must believe very very cautiously earlier than getting one. The make a lot of noise, so ensure you may have big grounds as to not bother your nabors. I live to tell the tale a farm and still get complaints! And another challenge is that they shed hear twice a year, quite a lot of hair. No matter in case you groom them 3 times a day, the hir will still be every where, even in the air you breath and the meals you consume. They're superb hunters and can get to any small animals you could have or your nabours might have. They dig deep holes and jump high fences. If you are good all set for this and for the activity (as a minimum 10 km a day after the canine it 18 months), then they make lovely pets and excellent companions. Tell us what you come to a decision. Get a puppy from a legit breeder that x-rays the mom and dad, and test them for eye defects, breeder have to additionally register your dog with the local Kennel association. Prices start at about 2000$.

all dogs are difficult to house train, the hardness or easiness doens't depend on the breed so much as the individual dog. I had a husky, she was very intelligent, but one of the most stubborn dogs ever. she did pick up on hose breaking, but she never learned anything beyond sit... well she learned it, but would only do it if you had something she really wanted.

as for pricing, it all depends on where you live, what quality you want, if there are papers, petstore/puppymill/farm/byb. mine cost somewhere around $1000

instead, why not get a dog from a shelter? they are only about $60-$150 jus tto cover adoption fees. most are already house broken, and are in desperate need of homes. shelter dogs have often been mistreated and are more loyal than an average dog because you saved them. shelter often have pure breds and puppies, but the adult mutts are the ones that really need homes.

good luck on convincing your parents.

Huskies are not easily trained. They are strong dogs, who need alot of attention to be trained. It will take alot of work, (they also need tons of exercise, they are smart dogs, if not stubborn) and I personally think that though Huskies are friendly, fun dogs, to relieve stress on your parents, to get an easier to train dog, like a retriever.

I have a Siberian huskie, and they are not easily trained but it also depends on the dog..some are willing to learn..some are not.I found that mine is very stubborn. We payed about $500 for him. Also German Sheppard's are extremely intelligent, and are easily trained and house broken. You can find them different places for different amount's of money, I often look in the news paper, that's where I got my huskie.

They can run up to $800 depending on their background. Huskies blow their coat so be ready for a lot of maintenance as far as brushing constantly and major grooming.

They are very kind and easy dog to handle, the grooming can be a pain, but the breed of dog is very safe with kids and fun to have around. Good luck!!
