Off the top of my head, I would think that building a trailer might be more expensive than buying one. However, cannondale makes some of the most respected trailers out there. You might want to try to copy one of their designs.

Builing a trailer sounds like fun.
Not sure of plans, but what about just a bike rack? Those can be fairly cheap, and easy to install.

you will save money by just buying one from one of the better manufacturers
