I work 3 days a week, the rest of the time I am a home-maker. I have a 6 yr old, a new breastfed baby, a navy husband, a 6 month old lab. Even when I am off from work, the work seems to never end. being at my job is starting to feel like a vacation. It seems I can never keep the house clean, I get my daughter to school right when the bell rings, My husband and daughter cant do a thing without me, my puppy barely gets my attention. I am exhausted! HELP! how can I get rest?

Sounds like you deserve a day at the spa, a long hot bubble bath or a girls night out with friends. Treat yourself...you've earned it. All moms feel like this at times!

Your husband needs a reality check: A bit like mine really. He is an adult, the man of the house and he is not your son, you should tell him this.
I am also having to be harsh on my own man and now, rather than calmly explaining that i am awake 24-7 with no time to even have a decent toilet-break and politely requesting a break I am going to have to teach him by example:
Let him look after the baby when he/she wakes up at 3am. have the milk already prepared in a bottle so that can take over. See how he copes.
You need to somehow teach your 6yr old to be less dependant, but i cant advise on this.
I'd also say get rid of the dog, but thats just me having little patience anymore.
Have a night out with freinds, or a day weekend away from the family and home away and see how much house work he gets done. He should soon realise how hard it is for you.
You need a rest, it is not only in your interest, but in their interest as well as a happy mum is a good mum.

There is a saying that says, There is no such thing as a non working mother. I know what you're going through, I went through something similiar. What you need to do, for the sake of your own sanity, is take time out for yourself. Even if that means your husband and daughter can't fend for themselves. Eventually, they will learn that they have to do things for themselves when mom isn't there. What I did was make a meal and so that it could be easily heated and served and in your case have some bottles pumped. Go take a long bubble bath or go out with some friends. You owe it to yourself and you family before you flip...lol.

I hate to tell you this, but you need to get rid of the dog. That is just one thing more than you need to handle! Give you daughter (and husband) chore sheets. Other than that, what will you regret more later in life, not having a spotless house or not cuddling more with your newborn?
