I was just wondering could they attend birthday party's if they wish to? I wonder because Catholics do not go to mass anymore and nothing happens, they are still considered Catholic?

Compared with the vast majority of self-described "Christians", Jehovah's Witnesses adhere strictly to their religious principles AND to their bible-trained consciences. Jehovah's Witnesses are persuaded that birthday celebrations displease heaven (see below).

The specifics about exactly what details constitute "celebrating" a birthday are left to the individual conscience of each Witness to decide for himself. A Jehovah's Witness would never be congregationally disciplined just because he happened to be present where others are celebrating a birthday.

Regarding birthday celebrations, bible students are encouraged to consider:
: 0% of faithful biblical Jews celebrated birthdays
: 0% of first century Christians celebrated birthdays
: 100% of birthdays celebrated in the bible were by debauched enemies of God (See Mark 6:17-29; Gen 40:19-22)

Bible historians (M'Clintock, Strong, and others) have noted that faithful Jews of the bible did not celebrate birthdays, and that ancient pagan birthday celebrations were at least partially intended to honor the patron gods of the particular day. By comparison with such paganisms, the bible does not even tell us the birthdates of Jesus or ANY of his apostles!

Since such celebrations are not required in true worship, and can easily become a distraction, so Jehovah's Witnesses focus their attention elsewhere. In particular, they are focussed on the preaching work which *IS* a requirement for Christians:

(Luke 10:1-17) [Jesus] the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

When you consider that the King James Bible was first created because the Genesis Bible was considered too strict, JWs are just returning to the ways set down by God and Christ.

As for being Catholic, my mother is Catholic, as well as being Jehovah's Witness. She gave up decades ago trying to get her name removed from the Catholic rolls. She grew up in a Catholic Orphanage, so she has seen a lot more than most, including how the furnace in the basement was used for more than just heating.

Jehovah's Witnesses follow the Bible. If you say the Bible is strict, then Jehovah's Witnesses are strict too.

Jesus described the choices and consequences mankind makes by an illustration about 2 roads. The wide road had many people on it that was headed fo destruction. There were just a few people were on the other road--a narrow road--that was leading to life. The people on the wide road felt free to do anything they wanted to. Those on the narrow road were extremely restricted. But their reward was life.

So, yes. By following God's ways, Jehovah's Witnesses lead a stricted way of life. But it is for their own good.

no they will not go to a party, they believe god says in bible to not celebrate births or anything like an idol, so they do not, as they would see it as worshiping other than god.
and....
the traditional birthday cake is a form of witchcraft, spell magic for protection from bad and should have 1 more candle than your age for the year ahead....JW's will not have anything to do with that kind of ritual process....

(sorry to those of you that did not know that but it is true!, that's where the birthday cake comes from old pagan ways and moon worship)

(sister is JW)

By Golly, yes the JW's are strict on their religion!!! In fact, other than Birthdays and Anniversaries, they pretty much cannot celebrate any holiday, nor even their own country ((No "pledge of allegience," etc.)).

I went to a JW church once, but it was because I was looking through the door when someone approached to go inside, so I ended up inside, as well: They are strict in their manner of dress, for when I attended a JW church, I saw that EVERY male had his hair cut short, above the ears, and wore a suit and tie and all females were in dresses. In fact, they even took tests, like a day at school!!!

I certainly prefer the freedom of being one with Gaia ((Mother Earth)); for, the world is my temple, and how I worship and what I choose to wear ((or not wear, in the case of some)) is totally up to my own liberties!!!

Blessed Be,

WAS GOD STRICT ON ADAM AND EVE?

Adam Lost contact with his life source, [ DO NOT TOUCH THE TREE IN THE MIDST OF THE GARDEN Gen.3:1-5 ]; the same way an electric appliance needs to be pluged in and connected to function, this was what Adam needed to do, but he did not stay connected [ HE WAS TOLD WHAT TO DO TO STAY CONNECTED ].
Jesus is leading all to be SAVED and come to be connected with the life giving source, there are those that give out the proper instructions or repeat what God and Christ are and have said [ THAT BRINGS CONNECTION TO BE ], John 17:3; 12:47,48; and those that HEAR and listen. Matt.13:15-17;
People that have ears and can hear and do listen rather than do not listen and some or most are not willing to disicipline themselves, are a waste of every ones time and that is proven from Genesis to Revelations, the bible is meant for the last days and in these times is 2Tim.3:1-7; Matt.10:34-38; times difficult to deal with, so do not deal with the imposible, move on to look for those that desire to take on the mind of Christ, to appreciate all God and Christ have planned to save all of the offsprings of Adam that is possible.
1Cor.15:22-28,51-53; The heavenly [ THE WORD GIVERS Rev.14:1-7 ], for the new heavens, the earthly [ THOSE THAT HEAR John 12:47,48 ], for the new earth. Isa.45:18; 65:17; 66:1,22,23 as promised 2Pet.3:13; Rev.20:1-6,12,13; The heavenly first for new heavens are with Jesus to resurrect the earthly for the new earth or the kingdom paradise of God Rev.2:7; Rev.21:1-5;
22:14;
The holy prophet and apostles set an example for all to follow, SO WHAT DID THEY DO? Rom.14:5-9;
Answer this question by getting to know them and what they did.

No. I have NEVER known a JW to come to any type of party or gathering of something in relation to holidays etc...Unless they don't care about what they believe because those people have strong convictions about that kind of stuff.

They are strict. They can get expelled if they break too many rules. Getting expelled means losing friends - and in many cases not being able to keep in touch with family members as well.

They wouldn't do it. The big concern is that someone might see them and report them to the elders.
