can I deduct gas/ mileage to & from work ( I live 15 miles fr. work) on fed. income tax return?

Generally gas/ mileage are not tax deductable, unless you can prove that the gas/ mileage was used for business purpose and you would need a recipt of some kind. If you changed jobs and had to move to the new job then it is tax deuctable.
