Why not skip the mayo themed sauce altogether and make a tomato salsa. Just finely chop onions, a pepper and some tomatoes, a little garlic if you fancy. season with salt and black pepper and add chopped fresh herbs. You could add a splash of Tabasco to give it a kick.
Works well with salads, meats or fish

It's sold under the Hidden Valley brand name in the store near the salad dressings. You just mix it with buttermilk and mayo. You can make it yourself, I found the recipe on the net once. It's mostly garlic powder and onion powder and some salt and pepper.

Peel a whole lemon take out the seeds make sure of no pulp two tablespoons of light mayo salt and a 1/4 quater cup of virgin olive oil, get one of those micro mixer and chop untill it poors like liquid gold, hardly any caleries and good the next day. poor it over anything and eat it untill you drop.
