I didn't get a gift when I was baptized, but maybe some religious rock music might be appropriate.

As she should recieve a bible from her family or the church, then a necklace, bracelet, earring for a girl would be fine
For a boy a keychain of his favorite sports team, a cool watch, movie or music.

Is it a girl or boy? You could give the girl nice little earings and if its a boy, give him toys that boys will like. Many people give them little bibles, crosses, or things like that so pick something they might not be expecting.

the church will give the communicant a Bible probably. you could give a Bible carrier. there is probably a Christian bookstore near you that will have lots of things you could give.
