The age of accountability comes to me from the way you have presented your question.
As parents, one of their main roles in being a parent is to discipline their child(ren) when they do wrong. Its teaching them right from wrong! By the time the 'age of accountability" comes (average age is 12/13) the child should know what is right versing what is wrong.
When a child starts to rebel because they are told they can't do this or that, they are testing their parents to see how far they can go with doing what is wrong.
The values and moral instilled in a child starts from infancy to the age of six. During these six years will determine what type of an adult the child will turn out to be.
We all go through a period of "rebellion", some at an early age, others in their teens, and some in their adulthood.
Most parents do not push their child(ren) into their religious belief. Some do, yes!! But, after the age of accountability each individual is responsible for their own actions and words. When we all go before our Maker (God the Father), we will not be able to say, "But God, I didn't know I was not suppose to hate my neighbor, wasn't suppose to steal from the elderly, or Harry told me to do it so I did."
Bottom line, each will be held accountable for their own actions, thoughts, and words.

in spite of the fact that a Christian, i'm no longer likely with a Christian answer in this one. From what I see (and that i artwork with people who've used drugs and so on. somewhat), the two finding out directly to have faith in God or finding out directly to attempt to alleviate drugs from their existence must be the non-public determination of the guy. now and returned, the extra you push, the extra durable they thrust back. yet, that's the main organic element interior the international for relatives individuals to attempt to rigidity feed their ideals on those they love (and hardship approximately) via fact they think of it may help the different individual. They basically think of "i comprehend he could be ok if basically he could" and so on. Drug scientific care courses (the place I artwork) use the considered assisting the guy to comprehend "why" they took drugs, or used alcohol interior the 1st place so they are in a position to comprehend their very own motivations and then substitute in the event that they choose for. i visit assert this nevertheless. while you're a drug or alcohol person, seek for help of a few type. I easily have considered the effect of waiting till you're dealing with detention center time or have misplaced your loved ones relationships and it is not exceptionally.

I used to try this argument with my mother. Very reasonably (or as reasonably as a 10-year-old can) I'd say "you do realise that the more you tell me to clean up my room, the less likely I am to do it?" Strangely enough she didn't so much say "Gosh, darling, you're right, haven't I been silly?" as "GO AND CLEAN UP YOUR [thing a mother shouldn't say to a 10-year-old]ING ROOM RIGHT NOW!"
I've taught her though - I'm 36 and my whole HOUSE is a mess!

there is a saying that repeated hammering, bends even a solid iron rod.
but if you can hit, where it hurts more, the results will be faster.
but to hit a human being, you have to hit his heart.

No, but it's the message and how it's delivered that can or will change someone....Ultimately, it's the choice of the individual that counts..We all have choices. You choose to be a drunk or a doper....

here in Malaysia we found a cool technique to get people not to use or sell drugs. we hang them. you should see how effective it is. some people need to see a public hanging of a drug dealer to get the message not to sell drugs here. this technique is even more powerful then words. to be fair we hang a guilty tourist as easily as a guilty local.

yes that can often be true. they have to want to do it for themselves before they are motivated to do it. or stop doing it.
