450x2 kicker amp , 2ohm kicker solobaric, When I had them hooked up it would shut off all the time. I bought a JL audio 4 ohm speaker and it does great. Is there a way 2 hook up the 2ohm without it shuting off all the time? Or do i need a different amp 4 the 2ohm solobaric?

Assuming that the Kicker is a dual voice coil sub, you could wire the coils in series for an 8-ohm load, which the bridged 2-channel amp could run safely. Of course, this would also lead to a serious reduction in power. If you want to use the speaker in 2-ohm mode, you will need a different amplifier.

Usually the best choice for a single 2-ohm speaker is a mono amp.

If you don't have a DVC or can't afford another amp, just turn the gain down. This is just a band-aid, not a cure. If this doesn't help, than connect the sub to ONE channel, not both of them bridged. This will certainly get you by until you can replace your speaker or amp. All Kicker amps can run at 2 ohms/ch.

The amp is overloaded by the 2 ohm speaker. Be glad that it is shutting off. The alternative is a blown amplifier and possibly a blown speaker too.

Hook the voice coils up in series to make it 4 ohm.
