am interested in the 302 crate motor offered by ford. I currently have a 2006 ford mustang V-6. What am I looking at as far as challanges, I have been made aware that the computer is different, and the exhaust has to be changed. Some individuals told me to find a part car with a H.O engine. Help!

Forget it, you'll never be able to smog it. Go with a supercharger from http://www.procharger.com/

if you're going to go with a truck engine, get the 5.4

That 4.0 ohc you have is a very good engine, there are all kinds of performance stuff available now. How about 400 hp?

You have a whole heap of issues here. Nothing is the same, Not the brakes not the shocks not the motor mounts or any one the electronics. All the wiring in the nose of the car is different as is the transmission and the exhaust. I would sell the V6 and get a GT. In the long run you will be better off. Plus if you ever get tired of it the title will no longer match the car.

It's a huge project that will cost a lot of money. If money is no object then go for it but I'm assuming that it is since your starting with a V-6. I'd either look at putting a super charger on the V-6 or selling it and getting a GT.

First sell the 2006 v6. Then go find a nice low mileage 2003-2004 cobra. You'll be impressed and probably lose you license within a month.

Might it not be easier to do the swap into a GT mustang? Its how Saleen does their Parnelli Jones edition:

There is a lot of work and money involved! Many parts are different .It would be cheaper to find a used GT.
