I'm athiest. Every single day I face people that want to convert me to whatever, and I get insults for it and everything. WHY!? I don't go around telling people what not to believe, why do they do it to me?
Please don't answer with a religious statement or any of that, because I've faced so many already, and it's not going to do anything but piss me off.

Well see it's part of their religion. Several religions actually have a part of their religious doctrine that talks about going out and converting people. Christianity, Islam, Judaism are actually based around the idea of preaching the word to other people--with a clause that if you do NOT, then you are not a real believer and will not get the spiritual reward.

Other religions like Wicca and Buddhism are not based around these principles and do not try to convert you. Atheist do not have a belief structure that orders us to go forth and attempt to enlighten others.

However religion is based on cult mentality. First you have to convince someone that you are right. Then you must make them feel superior to others by a promise of a reward. In order to feel superior, they must also have a consequence. This consequence for not belonging is either being kicked out or being excluded from the promised reward. This being the case, of course they don't want you to not get the "free tshirt" afterlife. More common cult/religions also have to get recruits in order to receive their own reward. It sucks that they follow us around all the time instead of trying to convert each other (that would be awesome--sic the Muslims on the Christians and the Christians on the Muslims and they each run around trying to convert the other) and they could leave us alone. Unfortunately, agnostics are the easiest targets and they claim "I don't know" and therefore all you have to do to recruit them is convince them that you DO know. Atheists and wiccans get the advantage of being infidels and sent by satan to test their faith. So they speak out on us more firmly.

I started speaking in tongues and throwing holy water on them each time they followed me around. Tends to work after about the 3rd time you soak them. =)

You really must be paranoid if you think "everyone" is trying to convert you.
