When I was growing up I heard it was not enough sleep. Now a friend tells me it is a vitamin deficency but he doesn't know what vitamin. Does anyone know the cause or a cure?

I agree with Missingora, allergies will definitely cause dark circles around your eyes. In my case it was gluten intolerance !! ..................... :0)

First off it has appeared in my travels to be a regional thing, bringingit down to one of the simplest factors....WATER. Everyplace in the USA has a different kind of water treated so as to nullify waste, added flouride inmany cases, and in the southern states, the symptoms you mentioned were taken on board and it WAS the water...I don't know what was in it or lacking, perhaps have the water checked before and after a complete blood panel. Once the water in this area was purified and or drinking bottled water, often too expensive for people...things changed drastically.

The skin around the eyes is very thin and the blood supply can often be seen as a dark coloration around and below the eyes. Also, it is a sign of allergies or a sinus problem.
