It can form many phases such as :

ability - 才能, 才幹
intelligience, clever, smart - 才智,才華
A poet, author, writer, columist could be refer as 才子,才俊
knowledge - 才識,才學,文才
a fool, dumb bell - 蠢才

The above mentioned are nouns, below are adjectives

Smart, quick-thinker, intelligient - 才思敏捷
very talented in writing / learning - 才氣橫溢

Below are adverbs

Just now (have been) - 剛才
Only just a bit - 才只有這一點兒
In opposite, you are the one .. - 反過來,你才是

才 sometimes requires a specific condition such as the sun coming out:
我 們 等 太 陽 出 來 , 才 走 了.
We waited for the sun to come out, and then we left.
å°± just describes something that happened shortly after:
太 陽 出 來 了, 我 們 就 走 了.
The sun came out, and then we left.

This word (cai2) is used in combination with neng2 to express ability. cai2neng2
Or this word used in combination with (gang1) to express just or only. gang1cai2 (just now) AND (just two hours) cai2 liang2 ge zhong1 tou2
