It is very probable that British sailors did go into Iranian waters. At sea there are no lines to separate waters of a country from international waters or waters from another country. Apparently it is complicated for the British government to apologize. If Iranian authorities do not deliver back unconditionally these sailors in a short term, United States has an excellent reason to continue with the U.S. troops at this part of the world. War will become at large. Perhaps it is time for real diplomacy. Perhaps it is a "Jaque Mate" movement from Bush et al, to continue with their objective entirely.

Another know nothing, ignorant civilian has spoken. For the umpteenth time, pay attention. THE BRITS WERE IN IRAQI WATERS! The Iraqis even said so. What is WRONG with you people? Do you all suffer from comprehension disability? Do you not pay attention to the news casts and prefer to make up your own?
How many times have people on here said the Brits were in Iranian waters? ONE TIME IS TOO MANY.
There are limits for EVERY country along a sea/ocean where it is delineated where territorial waters stop and international waters start.

What does the British gov't have to apologize for? Doing their job? Get real!
Those men and woman are just an instant away from being beheaded, as has happened so many times before by the fanatical Muslims. The wrong word said or the wrong military move will sign their death warrants.
The U.S. will not get involved with this debacle unless specifically invited by the British gov't.

Your "at sea there are no lines so separate waters" statement goes FLAT out the window... there are CHARTS and, GPS aside, sailors (and even we aviators) can NAVIGATE !! The Brit sailors were in IRAQI waters, performing duties with the knowledge of and at the behest of the Iraqi government.

SO, Iran kidnapped the sailors / Royal Marines... even if they'd been in INTERNATIONAL waters rather than Iraqi waters. THAT is PIRACY.

Britain has NO need to "apologize", nor should they be expected to. Iran's GOVERNMENT is just trying to get into the media and flex their muscles as a major Islamic state.

Iran's claim of Iranian "diplomats" being held in Iraq is false also... those 5 were caught engaged in supplying terrorists and were NOT carrying diplomatic passports. So TECHNICALLY (under international law and the Geneva Conventions) they are SPIES and CRIMINALS.

In a word, BULL-PUCKY. Have you never heard of GPS? The British Sailors and Marines were in Iraqi waters and they were kidnapped just as surely as the Iranian-backed Hezbollah kidnapped Israeli soldiers last Summer. If you don't have the intestinal fortitude to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our allies agains the continuing aggression from the islamofascists in the "Members Only" jackets, I fell sorry for you.

Satellite images show that the British weren't in Iranian waters so the British government shouldn't apologize.

Global positiong proved they were in Iraqi waters. Apparently the Middle East is not finished with either country yet. We should close our ports and borders, round them all up and send them back, using the Janet Reno method and confiscate their holdings.

Average citizens can do their part by not purchasing Oil products and Boycott them. Their lack of Money will stop then and their terroist networks, financed by Big Oil. We can also demand that our governments enforce laws prohibiting Price gouging. If they can keep our troops busy and tired 24/7 they can hope to defeat morale and the will to fight to win. It's an old WWII tactic used by Hitler and the Japanese, later by the Koreans and the Viet Namese...don't fall for it.

Come on, any fool can come up with a better conspiracy theory than that.

"The 9 british sailors are experienced nuclear reactor operators who are now training Iran in running the reactors to maximize yield of plutonium. The objective is to expedite development of nuclear weapons before the US invasion to permit an Iranian attack on Israel."

Actually they were captured in Iraqi waters. So that pretty much debunks your question.
