i used winrar to extract a .iso file (xbox game).
once extracted, the file is 5.5gb can i compress it to fit on a 4.7gb disc? if so, how do i do it?

I'm not sure how to do it for a XBOX but i know that for a compressed .iso to work on DevHook on the psp you need to compress it to a .cso

You generally don't need to extract an .iso file unless you have to modify one or more of the files. Even then, I believe you can use powerISO without having to extract the files. The .iso is already a disc image - just burn it to a DVD and the drive you place it in will read the files.
If you have the proper software, there should be an option for burning disc images.

An ISO does NOT contain information to make a 'bootable DVD' by default. Bootable media is able to run prior to the loading of the operating system. The bootable information is read by the BIOS. An ISO image file may or may not contain this information

NO. The ISO File contains all the info to create a Bootable DVD.

Burn the ISO using an appropriate ISO burning program, you can't just "copy" it to a DVD regardless of size.
