According to what I've read, organized crime runs the world. The Papacy was in Italian hands for over four hundred years before John Paul 11, I'd look in that direction. You might want to look at the Olympic Organization too, that great chariot shakes billions upon billions of dollars out of citizens pockets too, and sucks it up to the top, speaking of organized crime under the guise of the oh so great Democracy. No. They got that stereotype throughout Europe because they were often the tax collectors. They were made tax collectors by the powers that be so as to create a form of anti-semitism. Tax collector were not well received. Making Jews tax collectors would add another reason not to like them,
