Did the moral majority and christian fundamentalist all gather together to decide Freddy Fudd chasing Bugs Bunny around with a shotgun was teaching our children bad morals? Where's all the cartoons I grew up with 50 years ago????????

Some of you are right. I got the name of the Fudd character wrong. It is "Elmer" not "Freddy."

They should leave our own kind alone. We have as much right to exist and entertain children of all ages.

And just how is it that you see this as something caused by the "moral majority" or Christian Fundies? Think you got that a little backwards.

And just who was Freddy Fudd? I know an Elmer Fudd and btw, many people say that Elmer had a studder which is not true, that was Porky Pig. Elmer talked with a lisp. Like, "I'm goin' get that wazkoey, wabbit."

Who knows. I grew up watching Sat. morning cartoons as well. I'm 32. But, there are no Sat. morning cartoons except on the cable channels.

Freddy Fudd? Was his name Freddy Fudd 50 years ago? He was Elmer when I was a kid.

What's up Doc? Actually I believe the culprit is our 24H/day society we live in. There is 500 cartoon channels (I know exaggerated #) to choose from all day, all week long. I remember looking forward to Sat. cartoons, but what's the point now. As far as the cartoons that are on air these days (most of which go against the morals of "50 years ago). Just another sign of the fall of western civilization.

I miss Bugsy and ELMER myself.
My fav was when Bugs went up against Wiley Coyote and they actually had Wiley speaking with a very intelligent voice.. it was hilarious.
Bugs bunny cartoons always had double entendres peppered throughout the segments so both adults and children were entertained.. nowadays, kids cartoons are too dumb for kids to want to watch.

Um, in case you hadn't noticed, it's Sunday morning. As to where the cartoons you grew up with are, it is the politically correct who have replaced them with things like Captain Planet and other cartoons that don't promote violence and gender inequality like Popeye supposedly does. If you want to fire off a volley then get the right target in your sights.

I wasn't even around 50 years ago so i don't know what they put on tv then.

I'm sure you could find them on some on satellite channel, may not be Saturday mornings though. Failing that you could always buy them on DVDs.
