The Church teaches that every spiritual soul is created immediately by God—it is not "produced" by the parents—and also that it is immortal: it does not perish when it separates from the body at death, and it will be reunited with the body at the final Resurrection.
Peace and every blessing!

The soul is the body. It is not something that lives on after a person dies. The bible says the soul dies, meaning the person.
If there were such a thing answer these questions.
1. When does a soul enter the body of a human?
2. When does it leave the body, as you have asked?
3. Who gets a soul in a siamese twin if they have one body and two heads?
4. Where did the man Lazarus' soul go for four days while he was dead and resurrected?
5 Where was the soul in any of the people in the bible that died and were resurrected?
It makes more sense when you realize that the person is the soul.

It all depends upon whether or not a person has trusted in Jesus for their salvation. If they have, then they go to be with the Lord.
2Co 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Philippians 1:22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. 23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
If they have not trusted in Jesus then their soul goes to the holding tank of Hades or Sheol, the place of the dead where they await the final resurrection and are cast into the Lake of Fire.
Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell (hades) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell (hades) were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Soul never goes anywhere since it exists always everywhere, ever. It is the body that becomes dead once the breath escapes from inside and never to return. Sky is everywhere and it is inside the mud pots also. Once the mud pot breaks what happens? The sky inside the pot merges with the sky outside. Same analogy with soul also.

Each individual is a spirit child of Heavenly Father and existed as a spirit before this life on earth. During this life, the spirit of the individual is housed in a physical body, which was born of mortal parents. When we die, our physical bodies die but our spiritual bodies don't. They go to the Spirit World to await judgment and resurrection. If the person that died was wicked, they would go to Spirit Prison and be taught about Jesus Christ.

After death the soul is judged. If the person is condemned, they go straight to hell. If they lived a life of heroic virtue, they go straight to heaven. But, if they died in friendship with Christ and have not been purified completely, they will go to purgatory to be purified. This is because the Bible says that, "nothing impure shall enter into it (heaven)". If anybody in this life thinks that they are pure, they are misleading themselves.

The soul stays where it is In its divine state. It doesn't move since it is immaterial. Your personal soul, the make up of your personality, cleanses its karma in an attempt to make yourself more free.

For those who believe in Christ, death is only a prelude to eternal life with God. We will continue to live. Let this hope give you confidence and inspire you to faithful service.

The soul (which is the breath of God) returns to him. You are not your soul. You--lay in the grave and wait for the resurrections. This is the whole purpose of the resurrection.
I don't know why people think that they go to heaven when they die.
Paul writes: "...the dead know nothing."
The bible says"...no man returns to heaven but he who came from heaven." Speaking of Jesus.
If you are a true Christian...then why do so many of you forget about the fact of the resurrection (the whole purpose of Christianity) and think that you go to heaven when you die?

You can ask but you will never find the answer.
In a special way we know they are resting and when they arise and go before God, we may see them.
Except criminals who choose right and new they were doing wrong, on purpose.
