You have to remember life sometimes goes beyond friends and family. Approximately 56% of men in the U.S. have affairs and 38% of women. What better place to call but the cell phone in the privacy of your car.
My girlfriend calls me as soon as she leaves the driveway. I always ask why are you calling, you just left. She says she already misses me followed by can you do this, can you do that, honey do list.
My business, real estate, sometimes requires my total concentration without noise in the background and the best place to do this is in my car. If I know it will require writing or is of any length I will safely pull over.
Last, what gets me to no end are these idiots that drive in the fast lane, holding up traffic, talking on the phone. It does not matter what the speed limit is the left lane is for the faster automobiles.

Well, they won't if they are in the UK and have any sense as it is now on offence to drive and use a cell (mobile) phone, punished by an endorsement on your licence and an instant fine of £60 (about $120)

I have no idea why... probably need instructions on how to find their way home and reminders to drive like a pompous boorish jerk the entire way there.
Handsfree or Bluetooth is an improvement as you can keep both hands on the wheel, but most of these people just do not need to be distracted.

Once you're in a car, daily life, everything is just begin, our mind and our brain start to come out with a lots of question. We are on the way to work, the daily routine just started, our mind and brain start to work too. Everything start to come out and we begin to search for the cellphone and dial.

Same reason they think they own the road when they have that phone stuck in their ear. Which is now the reason I have a push bumper on my truck, to help cure their road owning problem, and end their phone calls.

This bugs me to no end.
Where i live, they want to make that illegal and have manditory headsets for cell phones in the car.
