My PS3 has problems playing BLU RAY DVD'S.?
With my PS3 i got a free "BLU RAY" "X-MEN" dvd. I was led to believe "BLU RAY" was the best thing since sliced bread! In reality it was crap. The picture is noticably better than DVD's, but is still not crystal clear. But the big problem is the transition from frame-to-frame. The frames appear to jump slightly throughout the film, very similar to some copied dvd's i have seen. This problem is more obvious when the camera is panning across a scene.

I have a HD telly, which can handle 1080i, my PS3 is set to mach this resolution, and the two are connected by a HDMI cable. When playing games the picture is stunning, and none of the frame-to-frame problems occur.

Has anyone else had this problem?
I do live in England, so i am aware that if Sony knew anything of this problem, they would probably have ignored it, and released the machine anyway. lol

Thanks For Any Answers

Unfortunately, Blu-Ray is still a very new product, it's not perfect and has many teething problems. Even the £1,000 players on the market aren't actually very good.

It will get better (much better), but as with all new formats, the 'early adopters' get to do all the Beta testing the manufacturers should have done before general release, I'm afraid...

Hi

You seem to have done everything perfect the only thing we can think is you have a dodgy disc.
Do not loose heart with the Blu-ray Try and get the disc changed.

Hope this helps.

Yes., bring the disc back to the shop and explain. As long as the disc is supposed to be UK and the PS3 the same, there's no excuse. It could be due to the disc's bad authoring (copy-protection possibly causing problems, and that's not your responsibility to get right).
