WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM ? HOW TO GET RID OF THIS ?

I can not locate it in "msconfig.sys" . I have run many spyware detection programs. but couldn't remove that. My copy of XP is genuine, and that is not the one which is creating the problem.

Sounds like the Windows Genuine Advantage thing - you'd only get that if you had a non-genuine copy of Windows XP. Only way to fix it is remove the WGA from your system (if that's what it is).

If it isn't Windows, then it must be a program that loads up which you will need to isolate. Most likely a TRIAL version that you have to buy and then they will give you a security key to enable you to use the program.

Sounds like one of your startup programs need to have a security key to start. Hard to say which program it is with what you have told us.

Assuming Windows is asking for a security key AND you are using a legal copy of Windows, call Microsoft.

If not Windows, please clarify.
