hello! I read about cell phones to be used as spy gear to listen to conversations and other microphones or transmitters. whats the best product or technique to spy a conversation at long distance?1 to 5 miles.
is this possible?

the have adapted cell phones that look normal but they can be called and they answer in silent mode to hear a room conversation. how can this be made?

It might be possible to pick up cordless phone conversations with OLD police scanners (pre-1994). The frequency would be in the 30mhz range, so you could set-up the scanner to do that (it is illegal btw).

As for picking up cell phone signals, that is probably possible, but not with a simple police scanner.

Simply, I wouldn't count on picking up cell phone calls with any simple police scanner. Also, most cordless phones are way out of the range of police scanners, so you would have a difficult time finding any kind of phone reception.

I think once you are employed as a spy then your spy-master employer will provide all of the necessary spy gear.

If you are just nosy and want to eavesdrop on other people's conversations like a stalker then pay the price they are asking to buy the equipment - think of it as an entertainment fee.
