to the person who just answered file ext .com is a web site for file extensions, as for your question, that just windows crap, you can also choose a program from a list, make sure to uncheck always use this program unless you are sure you want to. the file ext website is just to help you if you don't know what program to use

Windoze doesn't know what program to use to open the file.
Always scan unknown files with a good Anti-virus program FIRST.
Then, before you try to open a file with more than one extension or with an unknown extension, go to: www.filext.com to learn more about it.

I think it should be *.ext file without the *.com right? Try to rename the extention to File.ext...
