As an agnostic who attends a university that is nominally Christian and at least 70-80% Christian-populated, I'd be pretty much out of luck if I hadn't dated several over the past few years of law school and grad school.
As far as other relationships, my first boyfriend was Muslim; my longest-dated boyfriend was Reform Jewish; the best-looking guy I've dated was Filipino Catholic. Religion should not be a boundary to love. If anything, the fact that someone for whom you have those intense feelings believes differently than you should be an inspiration towards tolerance, understanding, and sharing information about your beliefs and theirs.
If any of the above had been the 'you must convert' type, I would not have dated them let alone gotten into a relationship with them. I don't date close-minded people. It's a turn-off. But open-minded people exist in all beliefs and none.

i have a relationship with a Thai Buddhist woman, but then Buddha isn't God, so it's really an atheistic religion.

I could. Eventually, it failed due the other reasons. The religious conflict what just a bit of annoyance, something we could fight about when we had nothing else to fight about.

Yes as long as neither one tries to impose his or her beliefs on the other person.

of course it's possible. 'cause first of all, respect is the foundation of a relationship. so, if you respect your parthner, that means you will also respect this person's opinions and beliefs. it's all about respect.

Yes. If your other interests are strong enough, you can concentrate on what you share.
Usually, there is not enough in common though.
