Here's a conversation I've gotten from a Christian recently. A is me, C is him.

A: You know there's a lot of Hypocracy in Christianity right now, don't you agree?
C: Do not judge others....whose the hypocrite now?
A: Oh sorry, I'm not a Christian =p Who are you to judge me anyway?
C: You intrepreted that verse wrongly!

Here's me inserting myself into the equation: (I'm B)

B: Yes, I agree with you. The Bible foretold that it would happen.

B: That's true, we shouldn't judge, but I don't see it as a judgment so much as a statement.

B: I wonder why you aren't a Christian. I'm interested to know.

B: What verse???

:0)

It is possible that neither of you understand Christianity, and this guy is no help. For him to simply state "do not judge others" would not be true. He is taking the Bible verse out of context. I would explain, but I think you get the point. He doesn't really know what he is talking about.

For those who still think the Bible says not to judge others read it a little more closely. Most people think of judging as disapproving of or condemning a person. The definition of the word judgment is much broader and can also have a positive connotation (judging can be a good thing).

Why do so many people seem to think that there is so much more hypocrisy today? It has always existed and always will. The good old days when everyone was good and wholesome never existed. The hearts of men and woman are no different today than they have been in the past. We all need to return to reality and use some common sense...

Not all who say they are, are.

I agree there is a lot of hypocracy in Christianity. I do not stop there though. There is a lot of hypocracy throughout the world right now. It seems to be more now than maybe ever before that that the rule is what is best for me is all that counts which leads to that.

The responder above me is very much correct.

Forbidden to judge? Don't get stuck with the verse in Matthew Chapter-7.
Read the Gospels thoroughly, read also John 7:24.
You may judge, honestly!

Well form the line "Whose the hypocrite now?" it must mean you have some kind of bonding with this person... and he is right. i don't mean to be all "Godlandish" now but us humans do not have the right to judge others, only god may.

I know this may cause a stir up.

It's impossible for a Christian to not be viewed as a hypocrite. Becoming a christian does not make a person perfect. Therefore, they screw up and they sin.

That's the whole point of needing Jesus. Us humans sin no matter what we do. We can't be perfect. Accepting Jesus' mercy and grace changes our hearts. It allows us to forgive ourselves and not judge others nearly as much as before. Therefore, it makes for a much peaceful world.

The point of accepting Jesus as our savior is not that we suddenly have the ability to not sin ever again, the point is that we realize that we are unable to not sin. We are sinners no matter how much we try not to be. It's that humility that draws us to Jesus and makes us realize that we need him.

Beginning a relationship with Jesus does not immediately deliver one from:

Faulty thinking
hypocrisy
sin
poor debating tactics
bad spelling/grammar

It does, however, deliver one from the eternal consequences of sin due to Christ's payment on the cross..

I suspect you're not quoting your fiend correctly.

Anyway, you're not a very moral person when you try to create faults in others out of thin air. Who are you to say there is hypocrisy in people you've never met?

Isn't that a lot like false accusation? Or is it more like prejudice if you just assume the fault automatically applies?

If I choose to believe in God and you don't that's your decision. I just want to thank Jesus for dying for my sins. If you or anyone else wants to poke fun, then have at it. Only God can judge you now.
