what i really want to know is that is it just me or is it common to get rejected? i mean maybe its the way they dance nowadays. grinding is common and girls usually don't want to grind with guys that they don't know. or maybe my appearance? I'm pretty short about 5 '5" and somewhat chubby 160lbs. I wouldn't say that i'm ugly though, about average looking.

What are you looking for? Sex or a relationship? If it's a relationship, then you should steer away from those parties, as only skanks and floosies go to those parties. Try a less crowded environment like the college common place, or class, or a coffee shop...

If it's sex you're looking for, you're in the right place. You have to keep trying. Usually the girls will want to be hit on by the tall, muscular, bronzed guys, so that's probably why they're rejecting you. Sorry about that, I have no luck with that either.

Good luck with your quest! Hang in there.

Do you know how to dance? A few lessons might make you a great dancer. Do you bathe? Dress nicely? Shave? Do you have the best haircut you can get? Do you chat up girls beforehand? Do you pick girls who seem like they might like to dance (they're looking at the dance floor, swaying to the music, making eye contact with you)? Try picking girls who are more average, more like you. Also, go to the gym and start working out -- muscles are sexy. Try getting a wingman, someone who will help you get girls, or maybe even a female friend who will introduce you around if you do the same for her.

On a pure looks basis, are you trying to dance with girls who are overweight and average looking too? if you're trying to get up on the floor with skinny little things and they don't know you, you can expected rejection. Try working out a little! Grinding is stupid anyway.

perhaps it's the manner you approach women? Maybe you are attending the wrong kinds of parties-there are other forms of dancing besides grinding- i for one despise grinding due to its overt sexual nature and in the past some sketchy situations have evolved on the dance floor. Are you trying to meet girls on the dance floor? Trying to have a good time on the dancefloor? what specifically is your aim? I'm sure if you approach girls outside of a dance party, perhaps join a dance club on campus in order to meet future dance partners- good luck and rock on

Not to be rude but to be honest with you, a lot of girls don't find short guys attractive. Plus you may or may not realize it but sadly enough, a lot of girls will lean toward the @$$hole guys and ignore the nice ones. Then later, they end up crying to the nice ones about it, yet they still never end up going for the nice ones. Happens a lot. Don't worry though. Just have confidence but don't be pushy. Good luck.

Because you ask them to dance. when I was in middle school, my older brother taught me to never ask a girl to dance. Instead walk up behind her and start grinding, if she give you the brush off find another one. If you want to be a bit more classy, just take her hand and start pulling her onto the dance floor if she pulls her hand back that means no.

The sad truth of the matter is that there are always people that will never be asked to join the team or the dance.

It's just a fact of life.

Sign me up as a school dance wallflower also....

Not to worry.. Rejection is common.. Don't ever underestimate yourself. Put on that glow on your face, put a face of full confidence and walk about the hall.. The girls will be lining up for you.

What kind of man dances? A man who dances always dances like a tool. Better to sit back and watch the ladies if you ask me.

After they're drunk, this shouldnt be an issue.

That in mind, I have an interesting story to share.

Junior year, I lived in our fraternity house, we had a huge jungle-themed party. The freshman girls are all downstairs having jungle juice and appreciating how we give them free drinks. I decide to get my groove on - I go down and dive in. I spot the cutest freshman girl in the room and go over to her --
me: havin a good time? like our party? i'm steve...
girl: hmph -- ::turns away::

boy, i was pissed! lol
