Caught myself a 22 inch seatrout the other day, and today (ok, technically yesterday, but still) I caught my first-ever flounder! He was only 11 inches though, so I flopped him back in the water... funny thing though, was that he wasn't really hooked, just so intent on my Gulp shrimp that he didn't let go until he was on the seawall... *chuckle*

yodanitro... I didn't even mention that he kinda sat there for a minute looking at me like "Oh, crap, I shoulda let go about 20 seconds ago" before he started flopping... and the guy talking about his son's first flounder... "Daddy, daddy, I caught a fish, but why's it all crosseyed and snaggletoothed like gramma?!" Enjoy.

Texasman... sounds like a good day, again, wish I could do more in fresh water than drown worms.....
I always think "WHAT?!?!" when people talk about throwing back drum, but then I remember that not all drum are black drum or red drum or even sheepshead....

Ken... only 3? *laughs at her own self* three fish worth keeping is a wonderful day for me, but then again, I mainly go out to enjoy the weather and the water, dinner is added bonus, and when you fish that way, any fish is a good day.

Brandon... I've got a buddy who caught a huge bass on the St. John's a few weeks ago, not sure of exact size, but for a fish that someone you actually know caught, it's darn nice, I still think he should have taken a pic and gotten a replica done of it rather than keeping in the freezer, cuz you know that thing woulda been tasty... a few weeks ago.

Exert... again, I say bah! Bah on you multiple fish in a day people! All of you! Hehe, my fishing hole might not be in the back yard, but it's just a half a block away and stretches 156 miles from end to end.... and no emotional attachment to my vict... er... catch. Fresh fish is the only way to go as far as fish is concerned, you never know how long it's been in the grocery store, and I figure I'm one less person encouraging netting of everything

Ok, it's wanting me to pick a best answer now... It's been fun, even though everyone's made me jealous as all hell. (at least I didn't catch all those puffers that tried to follow my bait in, my luck's getting a bit better.) Hmm, now to decide if I'm going to pick best answer by weight or sheer numbers...

BASS fisherman....
Holy crap, just reread your answer... please tell me my math is wrong and that you did NOT catch 385 lbs of fish this week... you deserve a bigger BAH than I gave you before.....

Well,
after mowing the lawn, washing my truck, doing laundry and fixing that back gate...I walked over to the pond about 150 steps from my back door with a 6' ultralite, a Daiwa Sweepfire 1000 with 4# test and a 2" black back and chrome sided Rapala floating minnow and caught 23 bass in 25 casts over a period of about 15 minutes. The average size of these hungry monsters would be about 9" long. Don't worry, I gently removed the hook and placed them back after giving them the praise they deserve. I can't see harming my little pets.
Sounds like you had a very nice outing with that 22" trout AND a delicious flounder. Fresh fish just can't be beat by any old meat.
Keep up the good work!

I went out with my brother and 5 year old son last week and we caught a 62 lb yellowcat. We also caught many small yellows and blues. The big one is safley back in the lake. Can't say the same for the others.
