not without rampant disease and famine ....and even bacteria are carnivores....

predators are just as important to the ecosystem as herbavores, to try to change that goes AGAINST mother nature...and that pisses her off.

Without competition, there is no change or adaptation, also no balance to population growth...herbavorves would multiply till all the vegetation is eaten the starve in the ensueing famine.

Also in high population groups the risk of communicable disease is much higher, predators often pick of the sick and the lame to eat making the herd stronger as a whole

so....the answer is no

it is possible yes.

All species (including humans), have a maximum sustainable number. If the species that fill said ecosystem do not actively compete for recources, then those animals will all eventually use up the recource and go extinct.

However, in species that actively compete for a resource (by that I mean, one individual will guard the recource from other members of its species) then only those that are weak will die, so there will always be animals that are still alive. Thus a stable limit will be reached, without any carnivors needed to keep numbers down.

No many traditions and racial groups and races in general are based off eating meat. not in excess but as you need it to survive. People always used to eat meat un less it made them honestly really sick. This Vegetarian thing has only REALLY blown up in the more recent year.... sure there have been some religions and beliefes and traditions based from not eating anything with a face or even meat in general... but the world... animals included are predominately meat eaters.

So, no its not possible. Not Naturally.

No predators means over population and then no food for all animals. Even creatures like Hyenas and vultures are needed to eat decaying flesh, so some disease is controlled. It's all needed and very amazing to pay witness to because it's a wonder how anything works at all.

Not unless all forms of life in the ecosystem can get the energy they need directly from the sun or heat (geothermal). If they cannot, then they must get that energy second hand through the food they eat.

Plants are carnivores (actually, they are omnivores) even though they are unalbe to seek out prey.
