Ok I was in the Navy and while I was in I got a lot of crap about joining. People told me that if I joined then I supported the war and Bush. Yet I don't but people showed me no respect any way. so I ask this, Do you respect the men and women in our Navy, Army and so on? Or do you hate them because they are just doing their job and what they are told?

I respect every person in ALL the armed forces. To me, they are the finest that this country has to offer. The fact that they would go, without having to be drafted, shows their bravery and dedication to this country, and what it stands for.
I want you to know something, my friend.....those who condemn you for being in the service are not the majority in this country. They seem to portray themselves as that majority but they are not. The majority of hard-working Americans in this country support our soldiers, no matter what branch they serve in.
Unfortunately, you have experienced the chatter from these limp-wristed, slack-jawed, scumbag cowards, and I'm sorry you have had to endure that. They neither speak for me, or for any other patriotic American.
If you were here in my town, you would get a steak dinner and beer, on me! I'm very proud of you, young man. Don't hang your head, EVER. You did a good job. And you listen to those who count, and forget about those loud-mouthed slackers who are too scared to shoulder the rifle to defend the honor of this country.
I am a US Air Force veteran.
God bless you.

You joined in 08/05 and are already out? Hmmm okay.
The answer to your question is, hell ya I support the military! I'm prior Navy, my father served the Navy, my grandfather served the Navy, and my brother is active duty Army (the traitor). Military personnel have my highest regard.
Christmas of 2005 my brother was traveling home on leave and an old man switched his FIRST CLASS plane ticket so my brother could have it. I believe that as a whole, Americans truly show respect to military. After all, it isn't like it's THEIR fault we're in a war.
Oh and for your comment on Virginia, my brother was stationed there for two years (at Fort Eustis) and never encountered anyone showing disdain towards him or his buddies.

I show my respect to every branch of Military Service in the United States. I do not support the war, but I support our men and women who are serving in Iraq. We need to, even though we might not agree with the Bush Administration.
These are people who are putting the lives on the line for us so we can keep our freedom and help other countries in time of need.

It's so funny to hear these answers from libs since a Democratic Prez dodged the draft and didn't take Military action against these people first, if he did we maybe wouldn't be in this situation. Anyways, war founded the U.S.A. and since the first war here in the U.S., soldiers have fought for this land and should be honored and respected. Nobody should ever disrespect a soldier or anyone choosing to go that route.

Thank you for your service to our country.
I was against our rushing into a war that did not seem necessary, but I would never put someone down for joining the service.
I have not heard anyone criticize our Soldiers, Marines, or Sailors. If I did, I would let them know they should aim their displeasure not at our service personal, but toward the politicians who convinced a lot of people that this would be a "good" quick war. What a cost for the votes that got them.

I respect the men and women in the military. My brother is a Marine and I have the utmost respect for those men and women that risk their lives for the preservation of our country. Regarding those people that disrespect our service men and women don't deserve to live in the United States. They should not be considered Americans but a more fitting term like TRAITORS.

As a former navy man, I have complete respect for those who are willing to die for their country.
I do however, have no respect for a president or vice president who sends these young men and women into a war when they refused to fight one themselves. Guess they didn't want to get their hands dirty.
I also refuse to respect a president who sends someone into a war that isn't necessary, or justified, or righteous, and one thats based on lies.
Hate the war... respect the warrior.

I believe they deserve our respect for putting their lives on the line for us and our freedom. I may not like the political issue of this situation but I hold alot of respect for those serving in the services. I have quite a few friends who have and who are serving. It may not be the right cause. But you are doing your duty for this country.
