God, speaking through the inspired prophets authoring the books of the bible, declared homosexuality a sin, then it is a sin.
See: Leviticus 18:22; Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9,10; 1 Timothy 1:10.
Thus, homosexuality is just one of a litany of the degradations of the perfect moral state found in original creation.
As all sinners, homosexuals can be true Christians. As far as God views sin, homosexuality is no greater or lesser than other sins. All sin is objectionable to God. Since homosexuality is often practiced openly ("in your face"), the reaction by some is over the top. It may also be the case that anyone that seems to revel in their sin seems disingenuous if they are a self-professed Christian. I believe that the true Christian homosexual struggles daily with their sinful nature.

Yesss, if you firstly repent from saying that God made you that way. It was the work of Satan creating freaks among the crreation, because God created only man and woman.
You have admitted that being a gay is not normal; then come to Jesus and be renewed, tell Jesus that you believe in Him and He can straightened up your condition, physically and spoiritually... then you are ready for heaven!

If you trust Him, you will. Notice the posts telling you otherwise. That is not the Gospel. That is not God's message to all who want to ccome to Him. I'm Bisexual, and I am saved.
So if those people telling you that being straight is a prerequisite for being saved are not getting their message from God, then who are they getting it from?
The Devil works his way through the ranks of Christianity because they are not paying attention to what God said. They are caught unaware and instead of catching the flaw in their message, they support eachother in it.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you are saved. That sounds nothing like what the Fundies say.

If I were you I would ask God this question instead of Yahoo answers. You may also find clues to the answer to this question in a sincere, open-minded reading of God's revealed will: the bible.
I can tell you what I think, the conclusion I have come to by reading and praying, but either way, you've heard it all before.
Ultimately, when you stand before God on judgment day neither the people who approve of your lifestyle or disapprove of it will be there to defend or condemn you. It will just be you and God. So make sure you have sincerely discussed this and settled this with God before that time.

Not according to christians. Their bible states quite clearly that being homosexual is a death sentence--their god destroyed an entire city just for being gay. And the new testament confirms that christianity rejects homosexuality. Sorry. But you are better off without it anyway (imo).

I sure hope God is more merciful to the people posting answers on here than they are to you! I wonder how many of them(under60) have ever had sex out of wedlock. That is a sin but you won't hear most of them preach much about it! God bless you!

God did not make you that way. God wants all of us to live normal lives. Homosexuality is an abnormality, the cause of which has not been conclusively proven.
The modern arguments in favor of homosexuality have been insufficient to overcome the evidence that homosexual behavior is against divine and natural law, as the Bible and the Church, as well as the wider circle of Jewish and Christian (not to mention Muslim) writers, have always held.
The Catholic Church thus teaches: "Basing itself on sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved" (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2357).
However, the Church also acknowledges that "[homosexuality’s] psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. . . . The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s cross the difficulties that they may encounter from their condition.
"Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection" (CCC 2357– 2359).
Paul comfortingly reminds us, "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Cor. 10:13).
Homosexuals who want to live chastely can contact Courage, a national, Church-approved support group for help in deliverance from the homosexual lifestyle.

Something is valid today because of it's done in the past. You believe so. Don't believe. Do the best today. Do you know why a big heavy metal boat can be still on the water? why not shrinking.

well, do you believe the people that you see on 'to catch a predator' should be able to have sex with children because 'thats just the way they are and God made them that way?' of course not, their minds have been perverted, just like your's. its foolish to think that you were homosexual from birth and not as a result of your environment.
with that said, there is no indication that God sees homosexuality as any different than any other sin that anyone else commits. most people are inclined to steal or cheat or lie or something, its just a matter of your sinful impulses controling you or you controling them. its not impossible, we all have to do it in some form.
