My wife and I had a debate about vampiric rituals of gothic sub-culture. She said that the must drink blood similar to their type because if not, it will affect them like transfusion of wrong type. I disagree with her... I said, although unhealthy, drinking of blood with a different type does not cause any differently from drinking blood with the same type. Drinking blood of different type from the drinker is irrelevant.

the blood is digested by stomach acids so the rh factor etc. are irrelevant....
as a human you can get sick from drinking a lot of blood though, it's iron content etc. is not meant for our diet,
nevertheless if I had a hot goth gf and she wanted me to drink her blood...yeah I'd do it a little

The compositional difference between blood types is in the specific kinds of antigens found on the surface of the red cells. Antigens are relatively large protein molecules that provide the biological signature of an individual's blood type.
However these antigens being proteinous in nature, they are destroyed by acid in the stomach. Blood is not absorbed as a whole but is broken into components
Blood is a highly specialized tissue composed of many different kinds of components. Four of the most important ones are1) red cells,2) white cells,3) platelets, and 4)plasma. All humans produce these blood components--there are no populational or regional differences.
These four components are further broken down before digestion.
No transfusion reaction can occur.

There are many cannabalistic tribes out there. If something as simple as a blood type mismatch were fatal, wouldn't they be all dead?
Ok ok not quite good evidence since there aren't many left...but you digest blood before it's used, so the proteins that your blood type is based on are denatured and digested before they can clot. A denatured protein is an unhappy protein, and doesn't act the way it ususally does; same process in cooking an egg: the heat denatures the white permanatly, and it turns from clear to opaque.
edit: fun fact: your stomach and digestive system isn't really part of inside you...it's a tube that goes all the way though you, so what's inside your stomach/mouth is really outside your body. Wierds me out thinking about that.

Who in there right mind would want to drink any type of blood with so many different diseases going on? It doesnt matter if its your blood type or not, its just plain wrong. If your concerned with the outcome, you have answered your own question and don't do it.

no it makes no difference ,they prefered blood that had a lot of adrenaline
which it gets if you torture the victems first .
the blood type was not important
in the movies the servant vampire was even sucking rodents and insects
as long as it was blood

I would think it makes you sick if you do it at all. And goths don't drink blood. Even those people who pretend to be vampires don't do that. Only very disturbed people drink blood, and goths aren't disturbed, they're just different than you.

Do you worry about eating animals flesh? What is the blood type of the beef, chicken, pork, lamb, etc. that you eat?

It wouldn't matter, the blood that hits your stomach would be digested, not travel throughout your body.
