Suppose evolution was true; change does occur among species over time. Please explain to me why only monkeys, out of all the animals that evolved in the planets, developed the ability to think rationally. Why couldn't reptiles that evolved from millions of years ago develop the capacity for rationality? And if they are "rational" they have only slightly the capacity of being rational than we do. If they did, they would be the ones building houses, telescopes, etc. Please, explain!

Nicholas: If other animals think rationally too, why don't they think as rationally or even more rationally than we do? What accounts for the difference?

Nicholas: Okay, you want to use the term intelligence. Now explain to me why humans are more intelligent than other animals? Why couldn't they have become more intelligent than us? Furthermore, if you will tell me it is because they did not need it to survive, explain me how all the characteristics were attributed onto each species. Why did humans need intelligence to survive? It must have been determined before they recieved intelligence? Who and what decided? When everything was just bacteria, we were all equal, so how is it that any certain bacteria needs a different trait to survive? And how could it possibly be determined which one would need which characteristic, since they never had it yet? Okay, now you will need to do some explaining.

Have you delved into the "MOUNTAINS" of proof yourself? Are you a biologist? If not, why do you believe in something that you do not know anything about? It is the very same reason you choose not to believe in God despite the hundreds of pages (bible) which says that he DOES exists. But you believe in the hundreds of pages that say evolution happened, even though you have not personally delved into it? Why not, I will write a dissertation about the cookie monster, and because it will be such a big book, you ought to believe in it? Right? That's what I thought...

Why is it that only birds evolved with the ability of feathered flight? Why not monkeys? Why not fish? Evolution and natural selection help different animals survive in different ways. For some creatures, flight was an option, for others, it was claws or, in our case, "intelligence."

There are many reasons humans evolved rational thought. Unlike many other animals, in almost every other trait we fail at survival and defense. We lack protective fur, defensive armored shells, or offensive tusks. And yet, we managed to survive using our brains to compendate, by making protective clothings, and creating tools. In the beginning maybe our intelligence and tools were not that great. In fact, this can be shown by gorillas and chimps and the intellect/tools they use. But since those who were "smarter" had the ability to produce more offspring than others, our ancestor progressively got smarter and smarter.

Evolution and natural selection isn't magic. A rat doesn't grow webbed feet overnight when its habitat gets flooded. These processes can only work with what it has. Those animals who cannot adapt go extinct. Since we are clumsy, fleshy, slow, and soft creatures with nothing else going for us, our intelligence was, apperently, all we could "evolve."

Gorillas and chimps show this trend of intelligence as well as humans, but so do dolphins and crows (who can create and utilize tools to extract food from locked or enclosed crevasses as I once saw in a remarkable video of a lab experiment... they are much smarter than a lot of humans can be!)

I absolutely agree with you. The order, beauty and COMPLEXITY of nature and the universe means only one thing: an Intelligent Designer was involved. Could this rationality and irreducible complexity have happened by chance? Not a chance!

But the most incontrovertible proof of God's existence is no other than Jesus Christ, the Image and Word of God and the REVEALER of God our Father. He was sent by his Father not only to save and reconcile mankind. He was also sent so that men may come to know God. What human can …

Silence a typhoon?
Walk on water?
Multiply a few loaves of bread and fish in order to feed a multitude of 5,000?
Bring back dead people to life?
Give sight to people born blind?
Change water into wine?
Rise from the dead?

These miracles prove beyond any reasonable doubt God exists. They demonstrate Christ's power over life and death and the forces of nature. Only a God can have such powers.

And if these miracles were just made up, Christianity would not have grown by leaps and bounds in the first century. His disciples would not have risked their lives for a bunch of lies. Many people witnessed these miracles. The resurrection of Jesus cannot be silenced because more than 500 people saw his resurrected body. (1 Corinthians 15,6)

Peace and every blessing!

What are you talking about? First your rant has nothing to do with your question. Second what is your arguement. I'm no scientest, but I'm pretty sure humans have the highest brain power of any animal, and since we evolved from "monkeys" (sigh) it makes sense that they are pretty close in their "rational."

You know what, your question isn't "rational" enough to answer, study evolution, biology all you want if you actually have some will to have your questions answered.

It's explainable, or it will be. trust me. You must be one lucky kid because you're taking every probablity chance and turning it into your idea of God. We're here because of God? No we're here because of evolution. Evolution is not God. It is a slow process of change over time. It says in the bible that God or Jesus or the spaghetti monster could not interfere with the action. Or something else like that. We didn't evolve from monkeys, by the way. So get your facts straight.

Most of the smartest reptiles died out
when a meteor hit the earth 160 million years ago. But there were already mammals living at that time who had a more developed brain than the dinosaurs.

evolution was not true; change does occur among species over time.!!

It was analyzed and concluded that in order that the theory to be true each part required a certain no of years!

based on this the age of the universe as on today is not sufficient for the changes from animal to man.!!!

What is there to explain?
You could drop a ball from an airplane and argue about the probability of it landing in the exact spot where it actually landed. Does that imply that the ball was more likely to have stayed up in the air?

Even if your argument had the slightest bit of validity (and it doesn't), that would not prove God. It would only point to a flaw in evolution.

Proving one theory wrong (which you haven't even done) does nothing at all to prove any other competing theory correct. The only thing that proves that competing theory is evidence for it.

As a Christian, I have to disagree not so much with your comments as with your motives. There are a number of people out there trying to prove the existence of God and the validity of the bible from a scientific perspective. Simultaneously, they try to disprove scientific theories, such as evolution, which seek to destroy God. I believe these efforts are motivated by pride more than faith. It's in our nature to desire to be "right". We love to argue and we love to win.

But this isn't what God asks of us. He doesn't ask that we prove His existence to the non-believer. God asks only this....Mark 16:15..."Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." If we are faithful in this simple task, the rest will take care of itself. It would be very easy for God to prove Himself by descending through the clouds in fire and brimstone. It's very easy to believe in something that's right in front of your face. That's not what God asks of us, though. God asks for something much more difficult....a leap of faith. He asks us to believe in something that we cannot see and for which we have no scientific proof. This is the very definition of faith. Ephesians 2:8..."For by grace are ye saved through faith".

May I encourage all Christians....let the non-believers worship their own intellect....let them worship science. But let us worship God and continue to do His work here on earth. Let's not get caught up in petty arguments in defense of God. God will speak for Himself when the need arises. All we do in bickering is to show the non-believer that we are no different than the rest of the world. Instead, let Christ show through you, so that the non-believer will see that maybe there's something different about these Christians.

humans are not the only creatures that think rationally.

(PS-I do not "suppose" evolution is true. I accept it as valid because it is backed up by MOUNTAINS of scientific studies)

UPDATE: Get a dictionary, look up the definition of "rational". I think you are talking about "intelligence", which has NOTHING to do with rationality.
