Iran (Persia) was much better before the Muslims took over. Now, they are bent on ushering in the "Mahdi" and bringing about the Islamic Caliphate.
Israel stands in their way.
There isn't an Arab/Muslim country in the world who can do squat about it, either....

Iran can do whatever they want. They truly know that Israel is like a pitbull on a leash that America is holding back. If America gives Israel the go they will wipe Iran off the face of the map. Search around on the internet about one Professor at a University who does consulting for the U.S government. He predicted if Israel went to war in teh middle east and disregarded human life. They could capture every Arab country and Iran in 32 days. Israel is not a force to be toyed with. And all the middle eastern countries know it. Just look at the 6 day war. That will be your proof right there.

Is country still considered a democracy if its non-Jewish citizens are treated like criminals? I have been there and I have seen first hand the Palestinians at check-points and how they are treated. Women and children too. Israeli teenage soldiers toying with them. Moslems are treated the same way the black people were treated in the US not so long ago.
It was bad in South Africa, and it is bad in the Middle East.
I understand it comes from fear, but you can't treat people like sh.t , then expect them not to hate you. The Arab hatred for Israel is only matched by Israeli hatred for the Arabs.
Israel IS democracy, but it still sucks, because what I witnesed there made me very sad.
On the other hand, Iran had a democratically elected president that was not to the US liking and he was replaced by Reza Pehlawi. And we all know how great he was. Iran would not have become what it is today, without the US.

When will you get off the Iran hater kick? Your last question, and this question are both indications of your refusal to actually do any study into the subject.
Iran and other middle eastern nations do not recognize the right for Israel to exist as a nation. Israel actually does not recognize any right for a nation of Palistine to exist.
None of the sides is right in my way of thinking but then, I did not grow up tere nor do I have the same cultural background.
Do yourself a favor, take time to at least do an overview study of middle eastern cultures and religions before you make another display of pure ignorance.

Likely never. Or at least, not until the current leadership is gone.
Isreal has been a target of almost all its neighbors since it was created. And that's not going to change any time soon.

since 1948 israel has been stealing land from many of their neighbors.
israel was apartheid south africas largest trading partner.
