Earlier today I went into the salon with my natural hair (light auburn) and I told the woman I wanted a color close to my natural, only darker. She ended up dying my hair almost black with a purpley-red shine. I wanted to kill her.

How do I make my hair color fade so it's not as dark? Can I dye it again tomorrow with do-it-at-home dye, or would it be too soon? What products or things can I put in it that will make it fade faster?

I just scrubbed my hair out with Garnier Fructis Curling shampoo a couple times and a lot of the purpley-red came out, but my hair is still extremely dark.

Use prell or dishwashing liquid, put a ton in and let it sit for about 30 minutes either a couple times a day until it fades or do it over a couple days if you dont have time.

Dishsoap would work best. The only way to lighten it with a chemical would be to bleach it. You can't lift color with color. I'd definitely go with the dishsoap or a laundry detergent.

Try using clarifying shampoos - not dishsoap. Dishsoap will strip all the oils off of your hair.I tried dishsoap once and it made my hair feel like straw for weeks!

wash your hair a few times with dish soap.

since the color is red/ purple based it will fade fast because the pigments in it are fast faders
