What Jesus warned his followers about were the Pharisees who stood up on the street corners for show. Their heart was not in the prayer, and they were doing it just to make themselves to look good.
The Bible also says not to forsake coming together and where to or three are gathered together in my name, he will be there.
As Christians, we get together for fellowship and part of fellowship is to bear one another's burdens. We pray at church to pray for one another and to bring in the presence of our God for worship.

He didn't say public prayer won't be heard by God. Jesus prayed publicly himself. He showed that those who pray publicly with a view to being seen by men as being pious wouldn't be heard. The scribes and Pharisees of his day would go out into the middle of the market and pray loudly so that people would think they're so holy. God doesn't appreciate self-serving egotists like them, and this is what Jesus was warning against.

A lot of people today worship religion and think that they are worshiping God. They do as they are told never thinking for themselves. You know the type. Don't confuse me with the Word of God, the Bible, as I am doing all I can for God one or two hours a week now. Sounds familiar does it not?
Praying to God is talking to God. God wants your love and that is all He wants. Love is the biggest part of your life and we need to give this to Him that loves us.
It would be nice if everyone had the truth of God's Word already sealed in their foreheads. It would be all if not impossible to change our minds then. We would no with out a doubt how to love our Creator.
Pray for the ignorant that wisdom will come to them before Satan arrives here very soon.
Don't forget that Jesus Christ became our Passover and He has asked us to remember Passover forever. Just a few days away from now. spread the Word.><>

as a rule by using fact it fairly is classic, and a very great area of ways issues are carried out in a church are by using fact of shaped traditions. it fairly is significant word that no longer all Christian church homes do issues in an identical way, although. they don't seem to be forcing your little ones to do something -- you do no longer would desire to desire whilst prayer is lead. additionally, Jesus' statements indexed right here are no longer regulation. that is not any longer sinful to desire status up, yet quite in step with danger in basic terms prevents receipt of the "reward" for praying, it form of feels.

Worship is for God. Of course we pray in the church. Also Pharisees tried to get people with all kind of stupid " legal " stuff.
Do not take sayings of the Bible out of their contexts. : )

It's not the public part that is the problem, it's when one prays in order to be noticed by others.

Wrong! He was referring to those who pray in public to make themselves look good in the eyes of others.
